The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker is the tenth main installment of The Legend of Zelda series. It is the first Zelda game for the Nintendo GameCube, and was released in Japan on December 13, 2002, in Canada and the United States on March 24, 2003. Link is the name shared by the main protagonists of The Legend of Zelda series. There are many incarnations of Link, each possessing the Spirit of the Hero, with some of them being blood-related as well. They are chosen by the Goddesses to protect the land from evil whenever deemed necessary. They often need to complete a series of trials to mature into the chosen hero.
